I made the mistake of clicking on the image to follow the link. They also sell the neocon version of a pin-up poster of Coulter. I had to scrub salt and lemon juice into my eyes to get rid of the image.

Change takes a long time to accomplish unless some apocalyptic event shortcuts the process. Thank god for these people, because they’re accelerating change. The way World War II allowed Germany and Japan a fresh start with a new Zero Day, the American conservative movement is busy, busy, busy getting us there.

2. Why is an education not complete unless it includes mindless, hate-filled conservative vitriol? How many of those folks have day jobs besides being a conservative commentator? If these were conservatives in a variety of professional fields, I may give them a small amount of credit. On the other end of the field, I wouldn’t say you wouldn’t have a complete education without Howard Stern, Al Franken, and Janeane Garofalo.

I agree with the commenter who said they should have named everyone in the shot, especially because I’m not sure who all of the unnamed ones are.
On a side note, I had no idea Dinesh D’Souza was that gnomish looking. With his lack of height and Dumbo ears, he’s like an Indian version of Ross Perot.

Janine, I don’t read comments like this in the same way wrt to Coulter. I think people enjoy suggesting she’s transgendered or into S&M, or a stealth floozy etc., isn’t because they dislike transgendered people, floozies or S&M. They point it out because of her hypocrisy.
At the very least she’s a 40+ year old unmarried woman with an oversized adams apple who clearly doesn’t think the abstinence and marriage only morality thing should apply to her. We have no problem, of course, with pre-marital sex, but because she does, and parrots the right-wing moral nonsense, we’re going to mock her for being the things she hates. That doesn’t mean we buy into the right-wing shtick, we’re mocking her hypocrisy.

The transgender resembelnce is also funny because she is such a woman-hater. She has all of these opinions about how women should act, and then she acts the opposite way. She continually criticizes women for being too feminine (shouldn’t be allowed to vote or have positions of responsibility/power because of being emotional, hysterical, weak, etc) but then she is equally critical of women for NOT being those things, and calls them “unfeminine”. Then plays the sexism card when anyone criticises her.
The transgender moniker is funny not because being transgender is bad…but because her own sense of gender identity and gender roles is so malliable to whatever is most advantageous to her in whatever situation she is in at the time.
Her gender identity is very malliable and inconsistant. Beyond that, she has a huge adams apple and huge hands (which a not insigificant number of natural women actually have). Her physical and ideological gender confusions make an excellent and amusing analogies for one another.

It also helps that when faced with a true transsexual, it’s a very hard image for a person to process because it breaks normal concepts of gender identity (I’m still ashamed of my reaction to someone who appeared to be an m2f trans who seemed to identify as butch lesbian — it seemed pointless to me, and I reacted with disgust, which is not a good thing to do, especially when said person is about to hand you your coffee.) Therefore, in the human tradition of joking about that which makes us uncomfortable, we who find Ann Coulter to be a despicable human being seize on her slightly masculinized features as the butt of a joke.
I think Ann Coulter, in some sense, gets off on the idea that she could easily present herself as a feminist role model (being a powerful, successful, yet somewhat attractive woman) but prefers to throw in her lot with the misogynists despite the flaming hypocrisy involved. I don’t indulge in the tranny jokes myself, but I’m more than happy to indulge my socialist streak and call her the dirty rat that she is.
