Who broke ScienceBlogs?

Yeah, we know things aren’t working right. Comments are timing out, but that’s the least of it. Our techies aren’t sure yet what’s going on, but they are putting extra hamsters on the treadmill working extra hard trying to get things moving smoothly again.

Meanwhile, if you comment and it times out on you, don’t worry, it probably went through.

Stay tuned…

  1. You mean, you want us to continue commenting? Surely, this was a plot to foil us readers? : )

  2. Mad Hussein LOLscientist, FCD

Wotthehell, I just figured it was because of yet another great honkin’ gynormous 15,000+ comment multi-thread series over at PZ’s place. Sometimes I think Pharyngula really needs its own dedicated server. What price popularity? 🙂

  3. Just wanted to bring to your attention the following piece of hearty stupidity now being endorsed by the popular media. They talk about how to “flush fat away and how to cut back on white flour and white sugar etc. What’s funny is the way the diet emphasizes “detox” but also requires a restricted 1200 Calorie intake. This way they can claim it’s detox and ignore the fact that it has more to do with thermodynamics. Hedging your bets, very smart.

Of course some would argue that because people lose weight in the end, what’s the harm in misinforming them?

  4. Holy Crap! She’s even misusing medical journals to try and confuse people on the facts. I think my bullshit-o-meter just broke.

  5. I’ve noticed this comment “time-out” before, infrequently. Typically the comment does get posted, but you’re left wondering for a while.

  6. I often comment from my mobile phone using opera mini browser. This level of service is pretty normal for me 🙁

Biggest bummer so-far was that I made (what I thought was) a killerly appropos comment at the intersection. Error message I got was “this comment has been held for approval”. Not even a “404 – not found”.
